What?! Am I really the first person to comment on this shot? I think it's great (the shot, not being the first to comment). I like the composition of the Emperors; the colours are excellent; and the addition of a little extra (note the pink feet) adds further interest. On only a slight negative, it could have been a tad sharper, but overall this is a very fine image.

"Emperor Pinguins". If you see what they must do raise a young on this
world. Then these animals have really tolerated angels. Then we the people can
learn as lot of them.

Excellent capture of these penguins Kristof! We have a penguin house at our zoo which is kept at a chilly temperature to accommodate these lovely creatures. Seeing the movie "March of the Penguins" certainly changed my outlook regarding the stamina and determination of the penguins. Thank you for sharing this with us :=)

This one of my preferred shots fom your collection.
The Emporer penguins r in a real social group here, and it looks like their gathering at an assembley room / point waiting to go on a hunting trip when all the members arrive.
The wide shot has a good field of focus considering the lighting appears low.
Nice work, and well done. Try to resist those intense close up shots that appear so popular !! For me their instant appeal soon disappears once u realise thats there's nothing new left to view.

A friend of mine works in a camera store. The other day a very
confused looking woman approached the counter and handed my friend
a camera. She said "I took pictures, but I forgot to have film in
