Marvelous shot! The detail in this one is just purrfect... you can even see the little spider underneed the shroom. And those little shrooms on the right are just an adorable detail.
"Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile" .... mygallery
"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon
I got this in the VB and gave it a ten because I love shrooms and because this is fantastic...the shrooms and leaves are the same size. You must have been laying right down there with them eh? A most wonderful photo..and for sure I saved it..verena
This is another one of those gems that have been around for quite a while but I somehow missed -- a testament to the size of the Caedes submission list. Even at thumbnail size on the Caedes homepage it's easy to tell this is your work, Kristof. The outstanding macro treatment of your subjects and the black frames, making the images pop off the screen, are the giveaways of authorship. Although I often get poor marks for using frames on many of my submissions, I continue to do so because I understand the reasoning behind the practice and I follow your example because I like the results. What sets your images apart from so many are the tiny elements viewers do not see until they enlarge the image, like the small spider building a home below the mushroom's umbrella. Elizabeth in Louisiana is the queen of sunsets and sunrises. Paul Gerritsen in Holland is the king of focus. And you, Kristof, are the ceo of macro. No doubt at all. Thanks for sharing your talents with us.
