This picture was taken April 9 at Sun n' Fun, Lakeland Florida. It's the 2006 version of the USAF Heritage Flight. This was the first civil airshow appearance for the F-22. it was also the first time the F-22 Raptor, F-15 Eagle and P-51 Mustang flew the Heritage flight together. The picture was taken with a Minolta Maxxum 5D and a 300mm Lens (450mm 35mm equivalent)

Outstanding. Finally get to see the F-22 to compare to the other aircraft. Great shot.

Wow, good clarity. It was a nice day too which meant a nice blue sky for a background! Good work :)

Every morning I will rest my arms a while upon the windowsill of heaven, gaze upon God, and with that vision in my heart turn strong to meet my day.

WOW! You'd have thought the F-22 and F-15 would be stallin havin 2 keep up with that Mustang! A great shot, with amazing clarity and focus. The only thing I don't like about the F-22 is that the British Navy are buying a load in - we should have British stuff - still, there's no denying it, it is a good piece of machinery! Great work!

nice montage indeed - only the slightly odd angles, lighting and lack of cockpit glass distortions give the game away :-)

I was in the crowd along the runway about midfield, no special arrangement. Thanks guys for the nice comments. Not a montage however, real live event.

Very cool pic! The Heritage Flight planes practiced here in Tucson the first weekend of March but the base wasn't open to the public so all I could get were vertical shots of their bellies. Do have one of the F-22 & F-15 with 2 P-51s in between. They also flew w/A-10 'Warthogs', F-16 Falcons and P-47 Thunderbolts while here - but couldn't get any angles like you got!

Hi, No I don't have any other versions of the flight, this was all they did in FL. 2 P-51s would be cool :).
Cheers John happy easter to you also

This almost looks like a manipulation just because it normaly never happens that an old and a new fighter aiplane fly together :) Very well done shot and keep it up :)

god, always thought the F-22 was big, but not THAT big. its bigger than the 15 which is a pretty sizeable plane.

I agree with PhilUk. This looks like a manipulation. The pilot in the F-22 is closer than the F-15 and from position he is in, he would have a hard time even seeing the P-51 who is leading the flight. As a former fighter pilot, I know when someone is blowing smoke up everyone's ass. Nice try.
