This is an image I took last summer. I wasn't happy with the background clutter, but hey - beggars can't be choosers, we take what life gives us.

After being bowled over by your initial post, I've been waiting patiently for your second posting. WELL WORTH THE WAIT !!! It really doesn't get much better than this. That flower and the gorgeous pose of the Goldfinch have my eyes riveted to them alone. Could have been a Mack Truck behind them and I wouldn't have noticed. I can see you will keep me busy filling my favorites.

Just an old "Grampa" who still has a Kodak "Box" camera kicking around the attic ... learning and enjoying the wonders of modern digital photography.

Like Muggsy, I'm not at all bothered by the background. What a beautifully sharp photo of the finch! I can never get them to sit still long enough for a portrait, LOL. Seriously, great color and comp. Even if the background is a bit busy, the quality of your shot overrides.

If you wanted, the top leaves and stem could easily be cloned out. Any other background, though, starts to get tricky!

Just had this in the VB and gave it a high score!
This is just gorgeous and the background does not bother me at all. The colors and presentation are excellent!

I am realliy enjoying seeing your birdies!! How lovely they all are, me thinx you and John will be real buddies soon!! You are for sure "two peas in a pod"!! I love the little tiny finches, we have many here in ORegon, and by seeing your precious photo of the Finch by the Purple Coneflower sure brings how just how tiny these birdies are! It's also so interesting how that dark leaf in front of him looks like another teeny tiny bird too..well ok, I have a great imagination...I'm enjoying your postings a lot. Verena
