This is a manipulated photo:

# 1 Photo - of the Parthenon replica in Nashville Tenn.
# 2 Photo - Clouded blue sky

How:

~I used the magic wand tool in Photoshop set on about 37% to select the very boring empty sky - Delete
~I created a second layer of the orginal image and used the eraser tool to remove the sky around very detailed portions and then layered this on top in sections that needed it.
~I used the eraser tool to removed distracting landscaping and handrails.
~I used the rubber stamp tool to remove people sitting next to the columns
~I increased the color saturation both in mid tones and shadows on the grass to make it green instead of the dryed out yellow that it was.
~I used the rubber stamp to imporved the grass texture in places it was blotchy.
~I used the burn tool to increase the shadows on the carvings and between the columns to add depth.

Another version of this image can be seen here. This version is the orginal image turned black and white, but shows several of the things I removed from the photo.

I like this image much better than the original, the colors are great. I mean it gives the compostion a lot of personality and good contrast. Just about the only thing that bother me about this was that it seems to be floating on the clouds, there is no closure I feel that something is missing at the bottom left. Wether is mountains, a cloud, a sculpture, bushes, something. Over all you have done a great job editin this image, is almost flawless. I say that due to the reflection of the sun rays against the grass and structure in comparison to the sky. Maybe a gradient on the sky would fix this. Over all I enjoy you image a lot. Highmarks for this image.

Well done on the editing! What a great job you have done. I agree that it kind of looks like it is floating, but this is not necessarily a bad point for me - gives it more a of sense of godly ethereality!

Aww, yay! The parthenon is back again in all it's glory. I do agree with David, though that it seems to be floating out in the sky -- I think that's because you extended the sky to the bottom of the frame on the left side, so it has the impression that it's on some sort of island, which, I suppose, goes along with the Greek legend that the home of the gods ison the top of a mountain. Ok, digression has ended -- as a native Nashvillian, I say bravo!
