This beach is just a few miles north of Hilo, on the big island of Hawaii. Since Hilo is the rainiest city in the USA, rainbows like this one are a common sight.

That place was just breathtaking. The part that you don't get to see in this picture is that to the left there is a lagoon with a waterfall feeding it along with the ocean.

You know, ive just recently moved from Hawaii. We lived on the big island and in hilo,....i have been to this beach many of times but i havent been able to keep this image into my head untill now, you captured this perfectly and every time i look at this picture it takes me back home. Thank you

i've been to hilo. i didn't get to this beach, but i went to the kalapana beach as well as one on the kailua-kona coast. its very weird to see black sand when you've grown up with whitish sand. as for being the rainiest city, i saw more rainbows on oahu than i did while in hilo. thanks for posting!
