This is one of the places I went after the Caedes UK Get Together. This was my favorite shot of Stonehenge. I took the sunrise tour which was quite deceiving because you don't actually arrive there at sunrise, you just have to be up and going before sunrise to catch the coach! I would have preferred to take the sunset tour but it wasn't available during the week I was in London. As far as I know those are the only tours available that you can walk inside the circle and they only have it when the place is closed to the rest of the public. The only downfall is how difficult it is to get a shot without people in it. I enjoyed the experience thoroughly despite the freezing cold winds and getting wet from the rain (just my luck!) Of course the weather cleared up very shortly after we all boarded the coach again. Admittedly I changed the sky in this one to add a bit more drama and it was a huge improvement from the original. Hope you enjoy! :) 'Lisa

An excellent take on these monolithic stones. Not your usual view of outside looking in. I really like this a lot and I like the clarity and color depth also. I am afraid that we were cordoned off from the stones and had to view them from outside the circle. What a wonderful opportunity this was for you.

somewhere I have never managed to visit Lisa! Even if it was past sunrise, you captured some excellent contrasting colours between the sky and earth! ....the angle is excellent - there are too many shots of the whole circle and this shot has great lines! ....well you know how I love angles and lines! :)

This is a CRACKER Lisa! Even knowing you added that sky It's so well done I can't tell. A great and clever shot, instantly recognisable while also being different from thousands of other shots of the Henge. Top stuff.

I've never been there either but you've inspired me. Here's another shot that just jumps off the screen and I'm with Patti on your perspective. Great idea for how to shoot it! Really like that you've got the stone pretty much right up against the camera, it pulls you into the shot whether you like it or not.

I have to agree with everyone's comment above, and especially the observation about the sky. If you hadn't told me, I would never have known and it is just that special extra touch that makes this even more dramatic. I'm glad you're wading through your pics and look forward to more from your experiences!

Amazing photo, the distant light shining threw from the heavens and the angle you captured the circle of Stonehenge is very well presented. Good Job.

Marvellous shot, Lisa, especially with that angry sky replacement, which shows up the stones so well. Sorry you had to be up at the crack of dawn but it has paid off and gotten you some great lighting in this image.

For sure I enjoy your work Lisa, it's breathtaking. The sky giving to your pic a drama atmosphere. I'm sure that in few minute there will be a procession with hooded men with long candle (in the wind of course). Thanks a lot for this post my friend, it's a masterpiece because we've never seen Stonehenge with this angle.
