A rose, by any other name, is a rose. Who doesn't like to receive flowers - especially roses? Perhaps not - when they have seen better days.

A rose on its last legs still stirs the heart, Thad.

Even if a rose is withering away I still find beauty in it. Wonderful capture, Thad. You captured the details superbly. Best wishes in the contest.

Thad....it's been a long while since I looked in on your progress as a photographer. Your work is spectacular, but I'm not surprised. And if you don't mind my saying....it's nice to see a flower shot that is somewhat out of the ordinary. Beautiful detail work, lovely colors. No complaints and not much of a critique. A solid 9.1278 out of 10 and a fave.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

To answer your question, I imagine people who suffer from allergies are not to fond of receiving the gift of flowers.

I have a hard enough time recognizing flowers when there are in tiptop shape let alone fallen to pieces like this one. A good take on the contest theme. Great colours and details in your photo Thad. Best of luck in the contest.
