WIlliamsburg, Virginia, USA. Robert Carter was a very wealthy and influential person in Virginia. When the House of Burgesses was in session, most attendees stayed at inns, or rooming houses. Several of the wealthiest built houses in Williamsburg for their comfort while in town. Carter, in addition to a house in Williamsburg, had an office building immediately adjacent to the governor's palace. (The palace's brick border wall is visible to the right.) The jerkin head roof line is a feature of this building.

My wife's aunt & uncle have a house that looks very much like this office, Thad. I like it and I like this.

If I were to live there, I would have to chop off the entire right side. Way too big! LOL. Pretty cool shot of this office.

Very well preserved and maintained Thad. A similar scene was captured by me about 1986. But the color slides are unfortunately very faded. What I have still now are only a few brochures. Thank to your amazing series I can refresh my memory. Thanks for that my friend.

What a great image with the sunlight on it! The history is interesting, too! Imagine having the kind of wealth to build a house in places you frequent!
