Jamestown, Virginia, USA. Taken from the banks of the James River, looking past the fort palisade wall, the governor's house is seen at a perspective that allows one to understand the size of it. Given the dire conditions of the first years in the settlement, building such a large house was notable. A roof full of triangles from this perspective, too.

Too many triangles for me to count, and it's a great looking shot, too. Beautiful sky again.

A wonderful perspective view of the governor's house frame. In comparison to the fort palisade it looks huge. The sky sets off the wooden structure nicely. Well captured, Thad.

Very interesting post again Thad. Given the time that the original house was built, it was a large one. Agree with the others about the wonderful sky in your image.

The silhouetted rustic fencing and the building skeleton look wonderful against the blue sky, Thad. Fantastico.

Even a skeleton can look nice Thad ! There are more than enough triangles here. Good one for the contest.

That was quite an undertaking for the time, Thad.
People are amazing at what they can accomplish.

That was a very large house for that early time period - most interesting story of this finding.

Interesting structure Thad and a great entry for the contest. One thing is certain - the people back then worked a lot harder than most of us have to now.
