The species name really is called a REDDISH HERON, and these are a bit low in population due to over-development here in Florida, and many of their areas drained for building and such. Then the natural problems of wetlands drying up as well causes loss of habitat. :( This one is walking whacky for a good reason....he sees Owd Bob sneaking up behind him with two pieces of bread....:) { Actually...the true reason is in my next photo...}

A superior shot of this heron, Terri; great clarity and love the composition! I'm smiling at the thought of Owd Bob chasing him; can't wait to see your next photo! :))

WOAH!
thats just bob on!!!
the framing and the capture itself are stunning
re silly walks ... he does kind of look like John Cleese - linkie -

come on we need to have a higher scale than just up to 10 ... this just went over!

to repeat what i said on the other one :

the clarity and focus on the eye, feathers and the falling dropletts waters is simply stunning

great motion blur on the wings ... perfectly caught

this clarity and sharpness contrast and work well against the grey and slight blandness of the waters to make the bird stand out even more

brill!

Excellent shot as always Terri! Nothing new for you! lol Another magnificent species we get to see today! I really like the action shot you caught here! The over development thing is really a shame isnt it? So much room on this earth, but because of our greediness we have to push wildlife out of their habitat too.
