I'm laughing my head off ... at the title ... not the photo. And I don't care how many "gators" you post, so long as you post as just many Egret shots like this one. Much like Gregg (Egggray) is the "Hummer Man" you are becoming the "Egret Queen" me Darlin' ... Simply beautiful ... and Thanks for the laugh ;O)

LOL you have really personalised this bird with your title. A fantastic picture, it is perfectly posed against the sky, and I would agree 10/10.
As you can imagine I am waiting with bated breath for the next alligator to appear.

This was the first thing I saw when I logged in today. Now I don’t need to look any further :-)

They don’t come much better than this and the title is a killer. The pose you captured is a classic resting but alert pose. It’s also one that shows that the bird was not alarmed by your presence.

The colours are glorious, the composition is perfect and the sharpness is excellent. I hope I see this in the voting booth so I can give you the reward it deserves.

Lol, wonderful title and great capture Terri, fantastic colour and clarity. Just to go way off on a tangent for a minute. I have really white skin, (Irish blood) and living where I do I've been badly burnt a lot. Long story short, if you can get hold of some aloe vera cream/gel or better still, a plant, it's absolutely the best thing for it, it's just brilliant.

This deserves a larger viewing stage and audience.

It really is that good Terri.

Compositionally, you could not have scripted a better shot. And you are spot on with the other technical elements. Making it look effortless ... that is the real magic. We, the viewers, delightfully get to sit comfortably ensconced on our hinnys and enjoy.

Well done. :o)

p.s. I like alligators. An animal that lives on instinct and yet ... I have watched the tenderness of a mother in her handling of her young and seen the voracity with which she defends her brood. I can't help but think that there is more than what meets the eye. Fascinating creatures ... they do get a bad rap.

This is the best one of yours I've seen so far Terri. It should be on the front cover of 'Birders World' magazine. A white subject [like black] is never easy to get right but you got the exposure spot on. Plus the shading gives a depth to the bird. Extremely nice shot and straight onto my desktop. [Shan't mention the 85degs - grrr;o)]
Cheers,
Steve.
