The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ decision to open floodgates at Table Rock Dam is causing some flooding in Branson. The storm that brought a deadly tornado to Joplin on Sunday also dropped heavy rain, prompting the corps to open five spillway gates at Table Rock Dam The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers had to increase the amount of water being released from Table Rock Dam on Monday, first to 20,000 cubic feet per second, then to 26,000.By . Tuesday, the corps was releasing 53,000 cubic feet per second with 10 floodgates open Table Rock Lake is at is highest water level in years with more water flowing than Niagara Falls! giving spectators a real water show from what is being call the Niagara Falls of the midwest. The clear, blue water of Table Rock Lake winds down through the valleys and hollows of the Ozark Mountains, from Branson, Missouri to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The lake is surrounded by roughly 800 miles of shoreline, providing excellent boating opportunities. The clear waters of Table Rock have been described as being "smooth as glass" within the many coves, and the many underwater rock bluffs attract considerable numbers of skin divers to the lake. Some people call it the Dam Table Rock Lake Dianne. What a wonderful shot and I know right where your were standing. I took this from almost the same spot. I was just shooting the other way. Glad you stayed safe.

I had to convert to metric tons/hr to get an idea and I am flabbergasted Diane! That is 2.6 million tons an hour! Great shot showing the forceful flow and also thanks for the info.
