Located on the Continental Divide (which divides the watersheds that flow downward to the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans) the road then goes downhill all the way to Aspen What a twisty curvy road hope you enjoy the ride to the top of the world!

Wow, what majesty in the view before us. You sure know where to stop to capture the scene, Diane. This spot shows a lot of what is around us and in front of us and it is awesome.

The view and the sky are too die for Diane. If I don't get the brakes fixed, I might be getting close.

The trees are helpful in this wonderful post to determine the size of the landscape. It's figuratively and almost literally a breathtaking scenery Diane. Thanks for the ride!

I have driven Independence Pass three times, six times if you count going and coming, and when I got to the part that is a sharp curve that goes down to one lane, and a drop-off very close, I think my palms were wringing wet! I wonder if you had that experience, too. Absolutely a gorgeous shot, Diane. This shot really brings back memories.

Really high elevation. This place must be covered by snow in the winter. Nice capture, Diane.
