Hi Everyone, the interesting thing about this rose, is that it has been frozen for about ten days, here in MI! I discovered it in a small cemetery near my home where I run! It's beauty never disipated, amazing, isn't it? I wasn't sure it would make a good shot, so I continued to watch it, and then I succumbed, and out came the camera! Hope you like it! Please view in full screen! Thank you, Marilyn

This is a very dense photo with lots to see: the coloring, the veins, the dew, the snow, a variety of textures, great cropping. Good job!

My dear friend Marilyn...well I think you did it this time!...This is the MOST gorgeous photo I have seen of yours. You have many beauties of course, but your finding this one and taking this photo is fantastic. Roses love the cold it seems. Here in Portland we have the Rose Gardens downtown, and many of them live right thru the winter, of course we dont have a lot of snow anymore. But I've noticed when I buy roses in the store, they dont last near as long inside my home then the ones that last so long outside..I totally love this photo of yours. I am putting it into my Favorites Gallery. I think the veins in the rose show up more due to the cold too. Kind of like the life of the rose is there. I thank you for posting such a beautiful photo at a cold time of year...and a rose with snow on it has got to be one of the best there is!!! So elegant. Gosh, I cant stop raving about it...someone tell me to hush..lol...the colour is soooooooooo striking!! The way the pink touches the edges and the yellow shines in the middle..wow...Great great shot my friend!!! V

Wow Marilyn..the detail, the dew drops, the veins of the rose, the simplicity of the color and the willingness to survive in frigid weather! What more can a person ask of a rose :)
This is a sharply deatiled image and viewing it full size allows the viewers eye to feast on the beauty contained within the image. You have done noble my friend. This is superb. It is going into my caedes.net folder on my harddrive and it will be part of my screensaver slideshow! Thanks for going back for the camera :~)

WOW!! Incredible macro, Marilyn. That this rose didn't just shrivel up with the cold is amazing, that you captured it for all of us is fantastic. What a beautiful shot. 10/10!!

Hey Marilyn...apologies for missing this one..a Pink Pearl for a Pink Beauty!...because it is a beauty Marilyn!....amazing that it still looks as good as new after being frozen for so long!...The wonderful 'pastel' shades of those petals have been captured great!.....By the way, Paul Geritson has just informed me...he is trying to win back "your hand"! It seems you have lost your heart to me....see comments on my image 'Flower Bird'....I tell you now...there is going to be a fight to win the heart of this 'fair maiden'!.......Bob

Marilyn - I see Mullberry splash markings on the pedals with a creamy vanila filling. The satin texture of the flower and the blueberry graidant background makes the whole photo look delicious to my eyes. I probably would keep this flower in the freezer as an offering to the Spring Gods, with a wisdom inspired prayer. . . "I like this, Do More Please" The same for you Marilyn . . "I like this. Oh Marilyn, this is just perfect. The clear shot allows me to see the fine details of this image. The colors of the rose are just like a pearl, the capture of the ice and snow still intact in place is wonderful to make this a beautiful shot. Lovely, just lovely.
