Thank you Cain and Pierre. Pierre, I don't have the necessary equipment to achieve good results. I suppose I could try to hold a welders plate in front of the lens.hehe
i think i agree with Samatar, but the pic is pretty cool, i absolutely love waterfalls, they r amazing & i miss seeing themas often as i used to in Sri Lanka. nice view : )
Very nice shot. Beautiful place! I don't think the shot should be brighter though. The water would get overexposed then. I rather like the wide contrast in the shot. It would be cool to see a longexposure version shot through your welders plate... :-D
Thank you Klas! I did have a go at brightening it, but as you say it got washed out. This is still quite a secret place! But more people are finding it now as a local newspaper gave some relatively clear directions to it.:-(
Well...This is a great shot,the angle you chose,the depth of image and i like the blurry light on top of the waterfall...And the heigt of the place you took the shot puts a lot of detail too...Very nice work Darryl...
Life is like climbing to a mountain,
İf you look down youll be afraid to fall down,
if you look up youll be scared
of the long way you still have to climb;
but if you only care about the place you are at the time;
its the fastes way up..

I had completely missed this beautiful shot, Darryl, until I saw it just now as the Featured Image. As close to perfection as a photographer could ever hope to get, IMHO. 10/10 and into my Favorites. :)
Love this shot. Excellent exposure at just the right time of day. Can you tell me how the falls got it's name?
I also collect gems (mostly interested in opals but find others interesting as well), there is a fossil called an ammonite and most what you see today come from Madagascar. They can have an iridescent sheen on the surface, and I was wondering if the falls got it's name because it has the iridescent look at times or because there may be a deposit of Ammonite fossils nearby. There are several opal deposits in B.C. Are you close to any of them?
Back the photo: 10 x 10 in my book and in my favorites.

If you've played any role playing games you know, without thinking, that there is probably a rusty chest with a few gold coins and a dull sword under that waterfall .. if this waterfall is found in the early game ..
If found later, towards the end .. then it could very well be the legendary "Foozle Killer +5" that you read about on the game forums while the game was still installing ... but since the forum poster felt obligated to hold back some details, so as to not spoil the game for others, he left out the fact that "Smelly the Curmudgeon Troll" is sleeping with his head on the aforementioned chest
Not knowing this, you run through the water with glee, raising such a cacophony of splashes that you signal your arrival to those used to the melodic hum of the constant downpour.
They will sing songs about your exploits .. unfortunately their titles will be similar to .. "Darryl the Diminutive .. and his duncelike daring do's"
Your offspring will have trouble being taken seriously
You got a really interesting effect on the water. Clear, nicely composed... the viewpoint from which you captured this is amazing. The snow and moss also make a nice contrast. Good job on becoming AOTW...your pics are amazing!
