This is really great, Darryl!!! Terrific idea and great imagination. Reminds me of an old SF book called Day of the Triffids. (Hmmm...now where did I pack away those golden oldies...)
I thought of putting moon and stars in mine, but didn't think it would work. I ended up putting a sort of eye in mine as well. Twisted minds think alike.

Thank you Mary and Matthew! Mary you have things packed away like I do. Moved into our house almost 7 yaers ago and still have boxes that haven't been unpacked hehe. Maybe in spring I will clean it up and have a garage sale! Lol Matthew, I knew this was thought about by someone else and sort of rushed to get it posted.:-)
Just so you'll know...Rex (my Friendly Computer Guru) came upstairs while I had this image on my desktop, walked past the computer, did a fast double-take, and nearly fell down he was laughing so hard. He's a big Science Fiction fan and thinks this is the greatest thing he's ever seen.
RALMAO Mary!!! I wish I would have been there to see it. HAHA A little Steven Kingish, but more Alfred Hitchcock as my mother in law saw it! Thanks for sharing your moments Mary:-) Hi Rex!
I can see a story behind that eye. It's almost as if it was sorry it HAD to be born. Now it'll bring truth back to the world. Great artistic vision mayne!! Thats what I love about this site, it moves all of you great artists into creating new and fascinating images that will endure. It's going to be hard to pick a favorite for this contest. Again: fantastic mod. mayne.Good luck!!
I'd suggest doing a little more modification of the chestnut images to make it stand appart from the other images that use this photo. I really love the creativity, and customization of the photo would really put this in the winner's circle in my opinion.
I agree with caedes somewhat, it does need something to set it apart a little more; but then again the subtelty is part of it's appeal... hmm, how about some big curly eylashes? :-D
Mary: "Day of the Triffids"... I can remember that film being on TV when I was little, it scared the bejeezus out of me!!
I don't now how you accomplished this feat, but it is a Houdini like manipulation.Shows creativity and advanced command of software.Well executed and presented Darryl.Kudos to spouse for lending of lovely optical hardware lol.

I like this a lot Darryl, i wanted to do this but u beat me to it I u have done a superb job of it with a beautiful eye....hats off to ye wife : ) very nice work. i prefer this to the other one.
Thank you Avi! You should have posted it anyway I would like to see other eyes hehe. I hate my other one to haha! I will tell mine wife that lots of guys are giving her great comments on her eyes;0 I hope you still post a manipulation with an eye in the chestnut!
Excellent job Darryl! I'll be honest though, I think it could look better with some manipulation of the surround as Caedes suggested. But I can't take away from what an amazing job you have done sir, and this sure is a contender as you have manipulated so well :o)
Jubbly
Thank you Al...I tried to manipulate it with the acorn ripping through the background, but couldn't get it to match in quality and thought it would be best to leave it alone from there.

One of the most incredible images I've seen! I just love this - it's a definite 10 for creativity, creepiness, color and probably something else but I don't know what.
