This plant is called 'west wind' in Hesquiate because during westerly storms it was said to bring calmer weather if a person took a leaf and slapped it against the water, yelling, 'West wind! West wind!':-)
What a fascinating story about this fruit Darryl. Your history lessons are fun :)...this is really cool photo. The colors are very muted, the background is dramatic, & the water on the fruit makes me want to eat it! Hope it tastes as good as it looks. Really awesome desktop. In my fav;s. Thank you
There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is a society, where none intrudes,
By the deep Sea, and music in its roar,
I love not man less, but Nature more

I have this lovely (colors are awesome) photo, the history lesson, and am in agreement with all above comments. Then, I have this picture in my ever overworked mind of you on a walk with the dogs, snapping the photo, then irresistably picking that foreground leaf yelling the chant and making deep blue water ripples while Stuart and Daphne stare at eachother with that "Daddy's gone berzerk" look. lol
There's an emptiness inside her and she'd do anything to fill it in. Though it's red blood bleeding from her now, it's more like cold blue ice in her heart. She feels like kicking out all the windows and setting fire to this life. She could change everything about her using colors bold and bright, but all the colors mix together...to grey. -- DMB
