The elements are so perfectly placed, it's hard to believe they are a natural occurence! Or maybe it's the photographer and his camera angle making a good shot great! Well done Darryl.
Oh, well, i hope commenting hasn't been closed ... did I miss the cut off?
Henry David Thoreau said something (sorry, this is from memory) about the wood washed up in a stream bed and how that wasn't its intended destination ... and then wondered how many of his blessings and experiences had run aground on their way to him, like so much driftwood washed up on the rocks .... (*sniff sniff)
Sorry I butchered that
Beautiful light, compo, color ... so,yeah, basically ditto on what everybody else said.
10/10 and straight to my desktop. This is a wonderful image and I can honestly say I think you did a fantastic job here. I love nature shots and this one is right up there with my favorites.
Anyway, I gave it a ten. As everyone else said composition is perfect. Driftwood is a beautiful object I feel. I do wonder if maybe this piece wasn't used as a mast on some old sea dawgs galleon once upon a time...
I missed a bunch of really good work on your part while I was away, but this is clearly my favorite. OK, so why? Darn, it would take all night...First, the exposure and lighting are superb, just perfect for these forms and textures. Next, I think is the composition and how you arranged the diagonals against the other shapes. Next you filled the frame "just so". Then there's the subtle colors and the transparent water with sand and rock below and only a hint of sky. I gotta mention the white whatever is out of place, but the rest of this is so strong that my eyes literally are not distracted by that. Sincerely, this is one of my favorites ever on Caedes.
wow....what a nice shot and perfect sharpness allover the image.
the wood is nailed perfect in the capture, and those diagonal lines create a perfect depth.
10/10
Looks burned inside the one...like it has been places and is resting for awhile before it washes off to new adventures. The clarity and entire capture is just perfect!
Yeah, if it could talk it would be saying, "Been there. Went through hell for that." I like the way you composed this image, the stark, light-colored log has lots of character and it's doing a great job of segmenting the shallow water on one side and the pitted stones on the other, both features that are loaded with diverse characters of their own.
