With the end of winter rains the moss starts to grow and the river swells with snow melt. The birds are returning and full of song. Photographers get that itch that draws them away from their desks. Benson creek watershed, Vancouver Island, BC

Your skills are advancing all the time. I wish I had the time you seem to have to walk around and shoot photos... ^_^ You should consider yourself lucky. The mood here is almost perfect. Pro-style shot. The only thing that is not spot on is a minor detail and I'm perhaps the only one to notice it. The tree stem that stands almost perfectly vertically but are only visual in a small area in the center of the top of the shot draws some attention.

I think it's because of its centered position that is steal away some of the green and very cozy mood in the rest of the image And perhaps because it's the only part of the image that have defined straight lines (plus it has no moss on it), the rest is more or less crooked or bent in lovely "organic" shapes. (Naturally a straight tree stem is also an organic shape though... you know what I mean.)

But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile. Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.

Wonderful mossy forest. I see the stem but it isn't important Just part of the whole That is the way forests are. Great photo, I really like this one.

I notice the tree in the background as well, kinda weird that it's smack in the middle of this great scene, but non-the-less this photo is sweet! 10/10

Oh shit, even my wife likes this one, she won't let me remove this wallpaper and now it is burning into my screen. How could you do this to me? But I have to admit, it's a 10. Although, without that infamous tree it would have been an 11 (ha, ha).

Hehe. Yes. I feel wicked for only giving you a 9 since we don't have 11 I have to spare some tens for later. I'm not that short in stock I admit but I've found it's more fun to give 10s only on special occasions, every other leap-year. :P

Now to what you asked me. (I think I agree about the branches in the lower right corner BTW.) For perfection of this piece I'd try cloning as a first hand alternative up on the tree stem. You are considerably better then me at editing by now so you will have no problems there. The branches on the rocks would be a bit tougher I would think but that's maybe me?

I guess cropping would do as an alternative but I feel the framing of this photo is near perfect so I afraid it would affected the nice balance you achieved. (I guess it's just a question of trying though... ^_^) Who knows? (It depend rather much on how big size you had to begin with though... It may be a crop wouldn't be noticed that much if it leaves no black borders. I'm no superfan of those as a rule...)

That was just some thoughts. I didn't cover every angle as you might imagine. ^_^

Cheers,

Klas

I really like how the waterfall isn't the centre of attention as i think alot of photographers would have made it. It has its way to add to the image suttly. The green is amazing as well. Im dissipointed the tree was pointed out as i don't think i would have noticed it otherwise. Ohwell, it is still amaing looking.

This is like a little lagoon...so peaceful feeling...one can almost hear the water falling gently..and I agree, with Milo..if the tree had not been pointed out, I sure would not have noticed it...but its no big deal...the whole pic is great. I wonderr if you did a lot of touch up with the blue..the way it is on the rocks...gorgeous shot!!

I hold it true that thoughts are things; They're endowed with bodies, breath and wings: And that we send them forth to fill the world with good results, or ill. That which we call our secret thought speeds forth to earth's remotest spot, leaving it's blessings or it's woes like tracks behind it as it goes. We build our future, thought by thought for good or for ill, yet know it not. Yet so the universe was wrought . Thought is another name for fate. Choose then thy destiny and wait, for Love brings Love and Hate brings Hate. - Henry Van Dyke.

Hi Darryl, this is indeed estraordinaire! It reminds me of what I would imagine the 'Garden of Eden' to look like, a delightful place to be, enticing and alluring. I offer you a big 10, however, I am sure it is not needed. Ha! Sincerely, Marilyn
