OUTSTANDING IMAGE ! I like the layers of interest in this image the falls in the background make this image what it is. I also like thr shuter speed chosen. Not to slow to make mush out of the water. Just fast enough to maintain some detail. GREAT PHOTOGRAPH, I expect to see this on the new Top New Images page for a long time.

Photography is not a trade - it is an art. It is more that an art.
It is a solar phenomenon,
where the artist collaborates with the sun.

I hold it true that thoughts are things; They're endowed with bodies, breath and wings:
And that we send them forth to fill the world with good results, or ill.
That which we call our secret thought speeds forth to earth's remotest spot, leaving it's blessings or it's woes like tracks behind it as it goes.
We build our future, thought by thought for good or for ill, yet know it not.
Yet so the universe was wrought .
Thought is another name for fate.
Choose then thy destiny and wait, for Love brings Love and Hate brings Hate. - Henry Van Dyke.
crystal clarity of this one.. everything is perfect...
i can feel the scent of spring flowers in that forest, the amazing sound of the birds singing.. strong sound of waterfalls. and the warm spirit of the beautiful greenness there... oh.. i wish i had been there.. thank you for giving me the opportunity to feel like i was :)
you did a great job with the lightning.. those shadowed parts, covered with moss, make a nice contrast with the magical white falls in the middle.. i like the way you caught the branches at the top of the image.. it adds a certain mysterious point of view.. like you were hidden.. heh :)
a fabulous composition! oh, and tremendous details, too.. it must have been a great feeling standing there and enjoying the nature..
thanks once again for posting this one.. straight into my favourites!
enjoy your day :)
i thought this would be kinda a crappy image from the thumbnail, but theres so much detail in teh shadows its fantastic, i just love the moss, although maybe i'd leave just a bit more dark stuff on either side of the falls, they seem just a bit too wide, and have an odd ballance, not being centered, and not being on either third, although that maybe makes it more interesting.
You've always got such awesome pics, Darryl. Count this with them. Do you have any pics of the upper falls in store? :-D
The water creates a peculiar effect on the rocks in the middle of the falls - it kinda makes it look like the rocks are...floating, for lack of better adjective.
Once again, absolute perfection. I know how hard it can be to get an image just right in the Pacific Northwestern Jungle. It can be a very busy place. You mastered it with a true artists eye. 10 by me and in my favorites.
Darryl, I think you have portrayed the power of the water extremely well. I really like the voyeuristic view of the waterfall in the background. Having the two focal points slightly of centre in opposing directions works very well for me. It’s a wonderful image.
