One of the greatest kept boardwalks through the rainforest of Vancouver Island. A paradise for those who love nature in particular fungas and giant slugs. Bring your rain gear and let me know your coming:-)
This is awesome Darryl. This has simply amazing collection of things like wood, trees, rain, and mist. What more is needed ha ? :) One of ur best work up to date. Well done.
Oh Darryl..how I wish I could walk like that and "hunt" all sorts of little stuff. Such a beautiful 'walkway'...even here in ORegon we dont have such a beauty....to stroll on...does this eventually lead to water? or mountains or what? Are the Juan deJucy Straits or the Straits of Georgia near this? Its a gorgeous shot you too...ok, next? please? shrooms??? I'm ready!!!
From your description it sounds like Darryl Heaven.. hehehe with all the fungus and slugs.. lol.. great shot, looks like it would be a great walk... nice work Darryl
It is a great compliment to a photographer when I can say that the first reaction I have to a photo is "ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" when I first see it. And that is the reaction I had when I saw this come up on my screen. That boardwalk is superbly done. The rich colors of the wood is stricking. The perspective is "outa sight". Yep, I'd have to agree with one of the commentators above...this is one of your better compositions. Highest of marks. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!
Pat
Darryl; this is a very inviting image. If I use my imagination, I can just see all of those great fungal images of yours and imagine that they may have been taken here. Makes me very jealous. You seem to have all of the great opportunities.
Well done and a 10 from me.
I feel like I am fading. I've lost the Holy Ground. Maybe there's a chance, that the lost will be found.
If you saw a possum on the side of the road, would you too?
Oh my Darryl..the angle of the boards of the boardwalk as it descends through the trees is fascinating to just stare at! I wish there had been one of these in the Hoh rain forest :)
The wood is so rich in color..the entire image invites the viewer to come along on a stroll with you to look for some teeny tiny fungi and listen to you caution..."oh, please don't step on the giant slugs'......very good interpretive shot. Maybe one day I will get to see it in person *fingers crossed*
Thank you my friend for sharing this beauty with me.....I am enjoying it on my desktop :~)
P.S. pretty doggone clever on that title also.....:=)
Hi Darryl, I am not sure exactly how to describe this image, as it is just too beautiful The rich green and brown tones are so attractive and so appealing and add to the supreme quality of the image! It excites curiosity in me, creates a desire to descend down the stairs and into the unknown, the dense forest below! How fascinating! You should join me, as it is here that you will find those gorgeous photogenic mushroons you so love to photograph and do so well! Also, it is here we will find some of the most unusual flowers to enjoy! I am amazed you have a rainforest in Vancouver, as they normally exist in tropical settings! Really nice Darryl, a fantastic job once again! Sincerely, Marilyn
As I always say - some guys have all the luck - rainforests, boardwalks and fungi and terrific photographic skills and talent while some others ... LOL
10/10, Darryl, as in most cases LOL
What a great picture, just invites one to take a stroll down that boardwalk.
But what is that, rainforest? Looks like a regular forest to me, I've been under the notion that rainforests are the forests in South America, you know, the "lungs of the world", which are being cut down at an alarming pace.. is it really so that your forests up north are also called "rainforests"?
tell you what?...that i still love you? that i want to be with you for the rest of our lives and that im stupid for leaving you? well thats what i wanted to say but like i said it wont change a thing, because you love ashton and i cant leave krystalynne
Had to ... just had to, make my way back to your galleries. From a fellow Canucklehead, I truly love your visual depictions of the Great Western part of our country.
I am eager for a first-hand perspective, however ... you never disappoint in satiating my thirst to come to know my own country better. Plus ... I am not sure I could make the treks that you make ... so this is a fine substitute.
Remarkable and inviting to the eye as well as mind. Soothing to my inner frustrated traveler. Fantastic shot, composition ... professional as always. The lines present and captured ... your unerring 'eye' at work once again.
Thank you so much for being my tour guide ... until I can get 'there from here.' :o)
honestly... this reminds me of a dream i had. i dreamt i was in this GORGEOUS place and i remember thinking in my dream that it would be a great place to shoot. i woke up MAAAAD because i didnt REALLY get to take pics there. i love this. going in my favs.. well done! (contrast, lighting, clarity.. its all great)
(care to tell us what's at the end of the path? ;) )
