This time of year and moonphase gives high fluctuations in the ocean. There was enough changes to this image to designate it as a manipulation. Saturation, dodging of foreground grass and railing, blurring overall:-)
I have a problem with fractals and manipulations. 99 per cent of the time, I want pictures to be realistic. Even though you say this is a manipulation, it still retains many realistic qualities, enough that I will save it in my favs and use it as a desktop. I love the grass, the wooden rails and the setting sun. The thumbnail does not do it justice. If someone looks at this and chooses not to download it, they will be cheating themselves. It is superbly done and is a pleasing sight to behold. Well done Darryl.

What a magnificient soft photo ! It makes me just want to sit in some little spot and breathe in the sea air and the silence of that sunset. There is nothing like it...nothing at all ! I think I will take a drive to the beach this week, and see if I can get a feel of this again. You took a most wonderful picture here. IT must have been so nice being there...verena
I am sure this was a lovely picture before the manipulation. What you have done has given it a dreamlike quality and it is beautiful. Someone else has used the word 'outstanding' and I can not think of a better one.
There is a little white line along the skyline that I think is a bit off putting. Everything else is great, Those stones and flowers add more to the image than their size would have you believe possible. I think it needs to be seen at full screen to be properly appreciated.
Superb Darryl! Absolutely everything in this image is perfect to me. This is a true work of art and you have shown yet again your skill and creativity. A 10 just flat isn't high enough for this, into my favs it goes and onto my desktop! Excellent job!
I have to agree with Robert here. I'm always quite sensitive to that kind of artefact. Usually it come from sharpening either in the camera or in the postprocessing. (But it is usually enhanced (/aggravated?) in tricky lighting settings as it must have been here.) It extends to the rocks/cliff at the far end of the beach and most of the tree silhouettes. When you softened (almost) everything else to some extent these things stick out. The rest of the touchup looks great, I feel it looks more like a painting then a photo. But that is not a bad thing, right?
Well, from all you've done, this is a beautiful image. I like the way the tide is coming into the grasses and that's a nice fence. Fence, rock, grasses and wild flowers all make this a wonderful place to be. Thanks, Darryl. Top marks...
Hi Darryl. This is simply awesome and eye catching. I dont care if its manipulated or wether its just out of camera since pleasing the viewer is all that matters.
Your post-editing skills were working overtime on this one Darryl! The grass looks so inviting...maybe we could sit down there and chat awhile? The sunset is subtle yet it grabs the viewer's eye. The fence is apparent, but it does not dominate the image. The reflections in the water are drop-dead gorgeous. The blue sky looks so realistic. I would love to see the original. I know that you did manipulate this, but it appears as though it came right from your camera. At least to me it does. This is going into my favorite's folder under my favorite's person's name so I can run it in my screensaver slideshow program.
Thank you Darryl for giving us some eye-candy to feed on the week after Easter. It is much appreciated!!! :~)
Hi Mr. Darryl, I see in this most unusual image, a dream, where I picture the strength of a well built fence, divided by the soft green of the grass finally connecting to the strong ocean of blue!! It produces in me something I seldom experience, that of total peace and serenity, under God' heavenly blue sky! Whether this mood is artificailly produced or whether you and your camera did it all, the results are always the same! When a photo can provide these lovely moods for me, it is doing it's job well, don't you think Darryl? When an artist is able to help create in a viewer's mind, these kinds of thoughts successfully, WOW, I would say it is a great production! I think I may have gone over board with my imagination, sorry! I know men would like a more candid description in detail of the image at hand, but us women think differently then men you know, using a different part of the brain, and besides I don't have the photographic mental equipment to please you in this way, so there! LOL! Let me put it still another way, I understand why you received a c-index of 92, and congratulations to you and your fine work! Sincerely, Marilyn
I really like this Darryl. It goes straight into my Favorites Gallery.
I wish it would come up in my Random Voting booth so I could give it the 10 it deserves.
Thanks for sharing your vision and talent.
Really amazing. When I pulled up the image I had to look very closely to determine what kind of manipulation was done without looking at the description and I'd have to agree with the first comment, this is really nice work. In my opinion, most manipulation is overkill and there ends up being too much contrast, etc. This is absolutely perfect and retains a dream-like quality with some of the blurring in the foreground. Absolutely amazing.
