I was not expecting this - a grand view! The whole image is well composed. Pretty field and silhouetted distant forest. Of course, the Aurora Borealis is awe inspiring. Beautiful pink and green colors - charming frame work with the dark green background. Thanks Darryl, for sharing this lovely sight :*>
Very nice indeed. (Some funny comments here. I'll better let it be though...) I only expect the best from you to be honest... You have spoilt me I guess... This is not an exception. ;)
The virtue of the camera is not the power it has to transform the photographer into an artist, but the impulse it gives him to keep on looking. - Brooks Anderson
Breathtakingly beautiful my friend. I flashed back to when I was a child (many, many moons ago) before the days of light pollution Sometimes we could glimpse the northern lights. I was always amazed and now I am seeing them through the eyes of my friend who lives north. Wow. You are wicked with that camera Darryl. There is nothing but praise to say here. Good job and thanks for staying up so you could capture this shot and share it with us. :~) Kudo's !!!!!!!!!
Oh wow. That is gorgeous. We don't get these in Louisiana. I do remember seeing one in when I was trucking through Montana one time. This is gorgeous. Even the stars are showing. Great work.

Absolutely wonderful shot here! I have never had the pleasure of seeing one in person. You have captured this just perfectly - and I like the character the looming clouds add too!

aww they were good yesturday too? on saturday i was on a retreat up by rocky mountain house, and they were just awesome, some reds-yellows showing aswell, unfortunately i didnt have my camera along, and it would have been interesting photography from a canoe haha. was there a band of lights to the south aswell? can you reply and tell me what 10mm lens you have that goes f/3.5? i have the sigma 10-20. this one seems to distort a little more, but what a shot
I will have to see this for myself one day... not much chance of it ever happening around here though. This is a spectacular shot. I am wondering about the smaller than usual resolution though?
Thank you gals and guys...it is aurora season so you might see more images soon. I shot this with a Canon 10-22mm efs lens. Sam don't you get to see Aurora Australis?
I had heard that there were going to be some beautiful northern lights. I've never seen anything like it! Absolutely amazing and I love it! Great color and framing.
How lovely it is when unexpected blessings come into my life to cheer me up and put a smile into my heart. Help me to pass them on, dear Lord. Fay Angus
WOW. What beautiful site. I love the to see these for real. I love the green shades. This is just perfect with the starry sky and the glow over the trees. Excellent work

What i great capture this is. I now have it as my wallpaper, Thank You. I live in Indiana and actually saw a little of the northern lights but it was very light and brief. Still very neat to actually see it.
Thanks to all who comment on pictures in my gallery. Please accept my apologies if I am unable to thank you each time, and please don't feel obligated to thank me for my comments.
