The warm misty air is surely a winner for the setting in this shot Darryl.
This is just heavenly, but to have a bench here with that morning coffee...wouldn't that just be perfect?

Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.

Darryl, I really like the detail of this image. I can even see water dripping from the foliage. I'm really looking forward to spring and all of the many photographic opportunities it will bring...
Darryl, this is a wonderful misty forest view. The sun must have felt delightful shining through all the trees and foliage. I would like to be experiencing this scene with a steamy cup of coffee - that would be a treat :^))
I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

"To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
~ Henri Cartier-Bresson
Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb. - Churchill
Did you take this in January Darryl? I love the shafts of sunlight breaking through the thick foliage. The air is heavy with moisture yet the leaves look so green and lush. The only thing I don't like about this image is that I didn't take it ;=)

The virtue of the camera is not the power it has to transform the photographer into an artist, but the impulse it gives him to keep on looking. - Brooks Anderson
this is truely breathtaking. Inspired mostly by your pictures, i've dreamed of making a trip to vancouver island for a long time, and taking pictures like this. although we get snow here in calgary, we just dont have that moist air that lights up so beautifully, and our greens just dont compare. there is nothing i can even start to criticize in this image, my favourite of all of yours, everything is so interesting in it!
Absolutely mesmerizing the way you captured this! The rays of son and all the greenery is so beautiful and calming! Thanks for sharing this wonderful photo.

Thank you all for taking some time out to leave a comment. I do suggest going there to see for yourself...just call if you need a guide to the great spots;-)
This is an amazing photo, and a perfect walllpaper. What kind of camera did you use? The tree branches on the left - I'm not sure how you were able to preserve all that detail, but it really makes the entire shot a wonderful capture. Excellent work, and thank you for posting!
I would almost expect Frodo Baggins to be peeking out from behind one of the trees is this splendid image. The light mist with the sunlight breaking through and around the trees is spectacular. Woderful capture -
Everything I could have said has, of course, already been said :) Will just add that I am enjoying this wonderful scene immensely, it is something extraordinary:)
My first reaction to this was "stare", my 2nd "set as desktop background", and 3rd "stare some more".
That is seriously the best photo that I've ever seen; great job!!!

Darryl, This is one fantastic shot. I can almost see a white wizard appearing out of the light in this one. Like in the Lord of The Rings. This is a one of a kind shot.
