It's simple, it's effective. Because the enclosure of the cross is juxtaposed to the cross itself, you might have tried that angle as well. Have the subject matter appear diagonally across the shot and allow the natural framework of the bed to remain square in the frame. I think would have made the shot a bit more artistic.
