This is a freshwater lake that is on Dauphin Island, AL. I understand that this is a bit of a phenomena.(a freshwater lake on an island that is :) All the dead trees are a result of Hurricane Katrina which hit the island in 2005.Very sad sight to behold. critiques welcomed;

The stark white of the dead trees against the lush green is striking, Mimi. Beautiful reflections and a great perspective on this shot make for a very good image.

Nicely seen and taken, Mimi. It's amazing how Mother Nature does repair damage it inflicts on itself in time, but sometimes, it takes a very long time! Beautiful reflections in that fresh water.

Great photo Mimi. It's nice to see life springing back and those dead trees are so white against the greens. Those reflections are perfect. Great post.

I must agree, a stunning photo and I thank you for letting me see more of what that horrible storm had done. I am glad to see new life beginning at the trunks of the dead trees. Very symbolic of the circle of life.
