Taken on the Missouri gathering of fellow Caedesians. Shot at Missouri Botanical Gardens. This is a hybrid Peony. Natural lighting by Mother Nature. I simply cloned out some greenery in the background. Many thanks to my fellow Show-Me photographers. It was a great day :=) CRITIQUE IS DESIRED & WELCOMED HERE

Mimi, this is absolutely beautiful. Love the colours and the way it's such a great contrast against the flower, job really well done.

Dynamic details and lavish light pal!! Mother Nature at her finest and you've just knocked my socks off with this smashing scene!! Sensuous color offerings!!

I snagged 586 pics on our little outing, I've went through a few but have yet to post any...perhaps tomorrow.

A NOTE TO ALL MY FRIENDS: I WILL BE COMMENTING LESS ON PEOPLE IN MY “FRIENDS” LIST SO AS TO MAKE TIME FOR VIEWING ALL “NEW IMAGES” AND ENCOURAGING OTHER PEOPLE OF WHOM I MAY NOT KNOW OR ARE NEW TO THE SITE. I WILL STILL VIEW EVERY IMAGE OF MY FRIENDS AND STILL COMMENT ON SOME IF I CAN GIVE A GOOD CRITIQUE OR MENTION WHAT I LIKE OR FEEL IS REALLY WORKIN’ WELL IN THE IMAGE. AS FAR AS MY IMAGES IF YOU HAVE A COMMENT ON HOW I CAN IMPROVE AN IMAGE I REALLY WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THAT SO AS TO LEARN AND BETTER MYSELF.

HI Mimi,
I really like your image of this Peony. Fine Color and Detail.
Love your Dark Background, it makes it POP.
Just wish that bottom Petal was Not Cut Off.
That's my Take on it.
Thanks for Sharing !

Beautiful image. Colours are sharp and crisp. The only tiny negative is the bottom petal being below the border of the image. But that's being hyper-critical.

the flower is beautiful. the lighting is extraordinary! the flower detail is brilliant. i, too, have a little trouble by the bottom petal....but the space it would leave (if it were eliminated) would be difficult to handle. so all in all "right on, girl!".

Just great Mimi. You don't post very often, but when you do................It looks like an amphitheater with the orchestra in the middle playing beautiful music. It is quite alive. Sorry I couldn't make the get together. I probably would have learned a lot. Have a good day. Tough loss with the Cards last night.

~ This beauty really caught my eye...the inner lighting and the way it resembles cupped hands reaching for heaven. Plus that fascinating center...just gorgeous Mimi, thanks for sharing!

Very nice, great DOF. What version of PS do you have? I love my Aperture, but due its limitations "cloning out" is not an option for me.

Wow Mimi, it really looks like it's reaching out to catch the warm rays - the stamens in the centre are beautiful. I love the lighting too. There's nothing I'd really want to say about improving this - it would be interesting to see it from different viewpoints, but that's a suggestion for more photos not a shortcoming in this one.

Nice one Mimi.

The quality of light that you captured alone is worth the price of admission.

:o)

Great detail and clarity, DOF is spot on ... as well. Well done on the technical aspects.

Quite an evocative photo to my eyes. Colour palette, positioning of the bloom et al.

And I will respectfully and politely disagree with the suggestions referencing the bottom portion being cloned out. I like that the bloom is anchored ... subtly. Works well to my eyes.

A big well done and but of course ... thank you for sharing this one with us. :o)

Mmmh, yes let's be critical.
Ok, the colors are...well perfect, no critics there.
The contrast; well the sun brights up the petal very nicely.
The composition; uhmm, well, to be honest...PERFECT!
No, I give up. A big kiss for you Mimi, this is a gem, just like you!
