This is the Golden Eagle. One of the most impressive bird in size and for me, in beauty. This has only been on my desktop for 5 days, but I feel as if I am being watched :o) Shot with hubby's Pentax K100D. Critique welcomed here

Beautiful, Mimi, this is one fine portrait. He's close enough to have a conversation!

A wonderfully composed head shot of this incredibly amazing bird. The focus and quality are excellent, especially of the the eye and beak. One small thing, and I know you don't use the Pentax often, would be to set the ISO down to decrease the noise in the image or run it through Neat Image or some such software to do that for you. The dof and the colors in here are really super.

Holy smokes...it does have a "somebody's watchin' me" feel about it girlfriend!! I see the note about the noise which I know we tried to work on prior to our shoot. I see none in the head, but do pick it up on his backside...weird!! I luv the placement of the capture!!

Why do the pictures come out square when the lens is round??

Very Nice Capture Mimi. I've never seen one in the Wild, although there have been reports of a few here in the past couple of years.
Thanks for sharing! This One Goes Straight to my Eagle Folder.
Much Appreciated !

A beautiful & majestic eagle. What caught my eye first was the eagle's soulful green eye. The focus on the beak, head, & eye is magnificent ... which are the first things I look for on bird images. I may have been tempted to crop a little closer, but think that may have worsened the noise on the birds body / feathers. Love the DOF.

I also get the feel that someone is watching me & it looks great on the DT as is. Beautiful capture Mimi & thank you for sharing.

Beautiful capture. Resolution is spot on.
It looks like the eagle is beginning to molt.
Slight pixelation, not enough to detract from
image.

Lots of nice detail and you captured the mean intelligence in his eye perfectly. No wonder you feel like you're being watched!

Hello Mimi....A very impressive portrait of this beautiful bird of prey....The detail is very good against the blurred background...If this was my picture I would have cropped it so your subject is more centralised in the frame, but of course it is not my picture.....Well done...All the best to you Mimi.................................................Mick.
