A Mohican Indian from the French and Indian War (also known as the Seven Years' War). The war was fought primarily between the colonies of British America and New France, with both sides supported by military units from their parent countries of Great Britain and France. The French were greatly outnumbered, so they made heavy use of Indian allies. This Indian is on display at Fort Ticonderoga in New York State where large-scale reenactments take place annually.

Makes we wonder what they did to their ears, Doug.
Colorful and you wouldn't call that camouflaged.
Good shot.

Could be even camouflaged - subject to the surroundings ... :)
The ears are kind of signum temporis - only which times :)
Fantastic bit of very interesting information on culture and history.

Very interesting and colorful image Doug. As an European I'm not familiar with the 'Seven Years War', so I searched on the net and have found this very interesting information. One is never too old to learn, isn't it?

Regards, Cornelius.

This is fine shot Doug. Imagine the terror when you might run up on a warrior painted such as this. He looks really intimidating.

i agree with Tigs..perfect in everyway. history i already knew but glad you added that to the narrative, truly fasinating stuff to read about. yeah i was wondering about those ears as well, then again with some of the people walking around today it dont surprise me. cant help to think how true the war paint was to the actual thing back then..i guess we can only wonder now. great shot doug!
