This old timer was participating in last years re-enactment of the 1758 Battle of Ticonderoga. As background, the battle was fought on July 8, 1758, during the French and Indian War (which was part of the global Seven Years' War). It was fought near Fort Carillon (now known as Fort Ticonderoga) on the shore of Lake Champlain in the frontier area between the British colony of New York and the French colony of Canada. The two day re-enactment is interesting to see if you are visiting Upstate NY. I'll be entering this into LE's Challenge. Thanks for looking and leaving a comment.

They found the right guy to do the part. He does look as though he came from the 18th century. Good one for the B/W challenge Doug.

He looks authentic, Doug. You sure you didn't travel back in time to get this shot? Excellent for Lyn's b/w challenge.

Tell the truth Gibbs. It is a selfie of you in one of your many disguises. You look a tad scruffy, but quite original.
Good one for the challenge.

I've been to Fort Ticonderoga on three occasions, once as a child, the last two more recently. But I only got the tour and not the re-enactment, unfortunately. And I also didn't get to take the ferry across the lake, which is something I really wanted to do. Maybe next time...

The first American victory of the Revolutionary War took place here...and Benedict Arnold and Ethan Allen both have really interesting histories!

The area is a gorgeous location in the fall, as well.

Thanks for the memories and your image is just great! He looks like the real deal!

The detail in this portrait is exceptional Doug. Actually I feel quite uncomfortable looking at him as he has those Mona Lisa eyes. No matter which angle I look at it from he is staring straight at me !

Excellent one for the BWC - on my list, thank you :)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
