We found these ellies at a watering hole on Sunday noon, and with the temperature hitting 40'C already at 11am, these animals surely needed some cooling down. When seeing these two enjoying the water, the back one leaning against the other, this song came to mind. What a sight to see, and wish I could take a pic of the whole watering hole for you to see. There were 6 elephants, 2 hippos, 2 secratary birds (very hard to take pics of, as they are very shy and don't often come near the roads), a lot of buffalo, zebra, impalas, blue gnu's, different kinds of vultures, an eagle, 5 warthogs, 2 waterbuck, and many different kinds of water birds. Hope you are still enjoying this tour and please take a time to visit mom’s gallery as she is also busy loading some of the park's pics that we've taken this past weekend. ENJOY!!!!

Wow Marietha! This is going into my faves! I think you did an excellent job on this. Great clarity, composition, and I love the soft color you chose.

I like the word Ellies. Has a nice flair to it as does this photo. Cooling that thick skin probably takes a while. I could almost visualize the watering hole you mentioned. Great work Marietha.

Great shot and I love the song...one of my favorites. Looks like a great place to cool off...just don't want to be in there with those big ole guys. Great job.
