I was 14 when I first joined Caedes back in 2004 and this is the first time I've ever uploaded a photo here. It seems silly to get sentimental over a website but I've spent countless hours here finding some really beautiful images and it's a shame to see it dwindle. Anyway, I took this when I was living in Ireland last year, it's Valentia Island down in Kerry. One of my ancestors lived there a few thousand years back and I was retracing their footsteps.

Hear, hear.

Life and stuff happens?

(*wags finger*)

Enough of this 'never uploading' images, you hear?

;o)

My first upload?

It waa a fractal.

It was also unceremoniously deleted by the image moderators a few days later.

:oD

I never took it personally, just a quiet nudge and suggestion that there was room for improvement. And there was a lot of room.

You done did a pretty good good job, here. What with the challenging lighting .. and .. spray from the surf.

Composition is fine.

The only suggestion I would make.. is to be mindful of any mergers.. things making contact with the outside frame, like.. the rocks in the bottom left. Perhaps, cropping it out.

The line of division formed by the land/cliffs and water is.. perfectly placed within frame. Kinda, sorta.. two thirds water, one third land/cliffs. Provides for some more visual interest and dynamics.. then, if you had simply split things.

Colours are really nice. Natural and vibrant.

Detail and clarity are good good, too. As in, overall exposure.

Nice one.. for a first upload. Sincerely.

And..

Here's your official, official welcome to the site with this posting..

Welcome, glad you took the creative leap of faith.

And..

But, of course.. thanks for sharing this one with us.
