I found this black and white Warbler checking out a hole in the tree. The only problem was it's already occupied by the 2 Chickadee chicks.

What a really lovely nature shot, EJ. I like the angle of the sun's rays and the moss on the tree and of course, the woodpecker. They seem to be quite active at this time. I heard two of them tapping away in the woods yesterday. (Couldn't see them though). lol

Ed, that's not a woodpecker. It is a warbler. In your
bird book, look up Black and White Warbler. I saw them
coincidentally for the first time in Costa Rica. Wonderful
capture of this beautiful bird.

Amazing how they can hold on the trees sideways like that. Beautiful bird and a very nice capture. Looks like he may have found a home.

I bet the bird was surprised to find the home or hole in the tree occupied. I like the textures on the tree too. Wonderful capture Ed with great detail.

He probably made the hole, left to go get his furniture, only to find squatters when he returned. Dag nabbit. You can't even trust birds these days. LOL. Excellent shot of this woodpecker, Ed.

"First come first served" doesn't always apply when you are trying to rent a "plot of tree" in springtime. Nice photo here Ed, - the bird is very sharp and clear and so are the details on the tree.
