Not a flashy autumn shot like those produced by New England maples, but a true understated elegance. Very nicely captured, Nigel. Love the detail you got in that tree to the left and the overall depth of the shot. And what a great wonderful swirl of water!

Great shutter speed control for this, Nigel. It's a beauty. The tree to the left is a stunner too with the gentle fall color and gracefully shaped limbs. That's a wonderful lens. My old Kodak has lens made by this company and I always thought it was excellent.

You children seem to have had a good weekend in Derbyshire, without too many fights I hope. It was worth it if this is the outcome. This is very good, Nigel. The detail of the trees, the subtle Autumnal colours, the wonderful water and the great DOF, all go to make a first class image.

"Understated elegance' and "Restful scene" pretty much sums it up for me. I am not sure that this composition you chose can be improved on, certainly not by me, it is superb. As others have already noted the tree on the left is the catch. It's bonsai look gives this image a zen garden feel. Other details caught my eye also, such as the ribbed falls in the distance and the flows over the rocks under the trees. You have created a wonderful well thought out capture of this beautiful subdued pallet scene Nigel. Well done.

Tick tech talk. I like the sound of that and I love this image, especially that graceful gnarly tree to the right of the wonderfully slow shutter capture of the whirling water. It's a scene I would love to contemplate often.
