This mountain in the Sawtooth range (Stanley Basin, Idaho) is named Abe's Chair. An apt name. Early morning photo with that golden first light. Unfortunately many of the trees are being devasted by the pine borer beetle, so you see a lot of rust colored pine trees in this shot.

Thanks Morwyn, Paul, Don, and Jacqueline. My children love hiking to the top of this peak. Our neighbor in the next cabin over skiied down that glacial bowl in the center, which is almost a vertical drop. Had one of his friends videotape him doing it, too, so he could prove to his disbelieving neighbors that he actually did it. Nuts, but spectacular to watch.

That's what I call serving us up one beautiful landscape on a golden platter. Well done.

GReat framing and layout (I particularly like the lone tree on the left) but the detail/sharpness seems to be a bit lacking, especially in the forest where the trees seem to blend together too much. I think this is due to the photo being a bit overexposed, but not sure...

Actually, I need a better camera, Sam. This was taken with a 2 Megapixel Kodak. Hopefully someday, I'll be able to afford a higher end digital camera.
