I started with a free Macintosh fractal program called Xaos. I took that fractal and warped it into a doughnut shape, and worked on it from there in Photoshop. The "pearls" are actually the very same jewel as the center jewel, only with the brightness turned up, and another light flare added to each. The other jewels are a button style in ImageReady, only modified. Hope you enjoy.

Of course I enjoy! I especially like the delicate black lines which remind me of bridges, snowflakes and fancy iron railings.

What gets me, though, is the way you make it sound so simple - as though these things simply appear and it is obvious how to make them into something beautiful! I've certainly never seen anything even remotely similar to this in Xaos.

It is lovely even though I personally like your "wild" fractals and images the best!

The wonderful jewel which looks like a beautiful brooch is so 3 dimensional. A lovely image and the colous are just spectacular. The pearls are so realistic with their soft glow.

Awesome, easily one of my favorites. The complexity and beauty of the fractal is amazing, as with the jewels. A superb color choice is coupled with a simple yet beautiful background to make an amazing picture. Great job.

Stellar work Nathan!! Lovely tones on the blue hues throughout the piece!!

Hey!! Any Crullers left? Maybe a Dulce de leche?

Per capita, Canadians consume the most doughnuts in the world [citation needed]. Canada also has the most doughnut stores per capita [citation needed].

What a cool idea, sometimes thinking outside the box to create a great image on your own can be more beautiful than nature itself. This is so cool…very whimsical, I really enjoy looking at pics like this. Very unique and lighthearted. Great job!
