The Arrábida Bridge in Porto passes over the mighty Douro River just before it meets the Atlantic Ocean. Built in the early 60's, its giant concrete arch was the largest ever raised in its day in the world. Today the bridge is one of the most recognisable features of this Portuguese city. If you come to Porto you will probably cross it at one point or another, especially if you go to Vila Nova de Gaia to visit the city's famous vineyards where fine port wines are made.
