A Fringe Lily (Thysanotus tuberosus). These flowers open for a single day each season, of which I barely caught in the late evening. DMC-FZ20, F/2.8, 1/500 sec, ISO-80.
Hey there Mister Madman, wat'cha know that I don't know
Tell me some crazy stories, let me know who runs this show
Glassy-eyed and laughing, he turns and walks away
Tell me what made you that way
Glad you gave us the latin name, thought they were fake (only kidding :o))) ). Never seen frilly flowers.
This is a very good picture, sharp with soft lighting.
Wow, what unusual and gorgeous looking flowers...How special that the flowers open up for only a single day. Lucky for us that you were able to capture them so beautifully. Thank you for sharing this. :)
This was such a beautiful shot I couldn't resist making a comment about it, you have a great eye. I really like the framing. I love the overall picture…Thanks for sharing!
I love these violet furry flowers - they are so vivid and interesting. The photo is well focused which wasn't really that easy as you have decided to present a group of flowers. I wish the photo was a little bit brighter though...
