I know that there are loads of butterfly pics on this site and everywhere you look, but I haven't seen many on this side of the screen this year, and I loved the way this one came out, so here is my viceroy offering. :)
Beautiful on the yellow flowers. The totally blured background and the off-set of the subject really creates some breathing space. Excellent job, Lil PJ.
What a fabulous monarch shot! The DOF is so nice and the colors are so deep. Well, flowers and butterflies - I never get tired of seeing them. Each one is a miracle!

these 2 most recent shots are possibly, in my opinion, two of your absolute best! the stair shot is warm and colorful and makes the viewer follow the stairs. the viceroy is just regal!
PLEASE don't thank me for the comments.
There may be quite a few butterfly shots on Caedes but this is still a fine upload. It's quite a dark shot too which is unusual, I can imagine You casting a shadow on the subject.
Nice one

*You will have noticed that I haven't been commenting as much on your fine images!..This is because of the pains in my hands!..the constant use of the keyboard, makes this difficult..so, my dear friends..I can only apologise to you all in advance!*

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

Wonderful nature shot, PJ, that speaks of summer and warm days with the presence of the monarch and the goldenrod...they really compliment each other...nice work.
Always remember - Follow the Yellow Brick Road, it will lead you to the Emerald City and OZ A very nice place to be. Trust me on this one, I live there. The Lion **** MY CAEDES GALLERY****Another Site I'm AT - MY DA HOME PAGE
Wonderfull shot ! and what a nice butterfly it is.
I have seen them here as well and took a few good shots from them in the butterfly garden of the botanical gardens. Your image is a beauty, and never mind the many butterfly postings, it is yours that counts !

Absolutely stunning image, PJ. This needs to go on shutterpoint, too. Love the colors and DOF, especially the kind of swirly pattern on the left. It's a fave.
Several of my photos are available for purchase in larger format at Shutterpoint, and some are also available in high quality framed prints at http://djholmes.imagekind.com/
Very clear and lovely colours. I would like to know something at this point PJ do you have to be quick with the camera to get butterflies, because no matter how quick I am I never get a look in at a good shot or I'm always waiting for one of the damn things to land and it always flies away lol. Thanks for another cracker.

Beautiful, beautiful! Nice work! I have a zillion, trillion photos/artworks to catch up on and seeing things nice as this make it such a pleasurable experience!
Hey there Mister Madman, wat'cha know that I don't know
Tell me some crazy stories, let me know who runs this show
Glassy-eyed and laughing, he turns and walks away

Monarch, definately a lady monarch <big grin> And a beutiful picture too. Did you re-touch the background to this one at all? BTW, nice to have you on the list of friends.
