Love & Charity.

This most lovely sculpture was a life-long obsession for Augustus. I found a link with more information on this work HERE

♫ :)PJ ♪

EDIT: Again, this is best seen full size or one over your size so you can see her lovingly carved face and that fertility belt :)

She much more attractive than a column. More shapely. Great post PJ and I'm learning something. She must be one of the Original "Golden Girls." Very nice post PJ and I'm liking the tour.

I'm glad too that you posted a closeup of this statue. It's totally enchanting. The lighting really shows it to its best. Beauteous capture, PJ. + faves

P.S. I wonder why most people are so attracted to golden tones?

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

It's pretty hard to show at an image a real good golden colour. Think the partly sunshine on the sculpture was helpfull to achieve this result. Very well done PJ. Regards, Cornelius
