if this was actually in the wild i give you credit, because i came upon one in northern nh last summer and i froze in place even though it was more than 100 yards away, the last thing on my mind was my camera which i had at the ready but no picture. great capture either way.

is this a cougar or a mountain lion? i think that you were extremely brave to take this shot even if you have a good zoom lens! i'd be in the car cowering. lol
Wow! Big kitty. I wouldn't want to get this guy upset. I hope you didn't use a flash. He looks like he's distracted by something, maybe he sees another Photographer that he finds more appetizing.

Hmmm...how did I miss this shot of yours Michael? This is just awesome. One of my most favorite animals. Cougars...so beautiful. A few years ago there was one at the back of our home..I saw him..he saw me...but didn't care about me! They are usually only interesting small things...lol....chickens, maybe cats, etc. This is a rare photo and I'm sure you must be very proud of it. Gorgeous. Verena
