I love the quality & color & great contrast on this Michael. Nice focus & the berries look lucious! The leaves of the bush or tree add a distinctive feature to this photo. Good job & thank you! :))
Very nice shot. It's a Yew-tree. I'd guess Western (or Pacific) Yew, Taxus brevifolia. The European next of kin is Taxus baccata. The wood of these often bushlike trees were used for material to bows, tools, paddles, snowshoe frames. These days it's used to make an anticancer drug (taxol). All parts of this plant is poisenous as far as I know. The red fruits look tempting but it would be a great mistake to eat them... Some birds seems to do fine eating them though. (That's how the Yew Tree spread to new places.)
The shot is really nice, especially the colours! Personally, I like it even more if it is horizontally flipped (but that's just my personal preference).

But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile.
I was wondering what kind of berry that was myself. I remember seeing them when I lived in Ohio and was out in the woods horseback riding. Great macro. Brought back some memories.
