I got a little excited this year and went to Mount Rainier a little too early and found Reflection Lake still partially frozen over. It still manages to make an interesting image of the mountain reflected in the water and ice around the edges.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them, and you have their shoes. -Frieda Norris

This one must be viewed full-sized to appreciate it. The mountain does not appear so vividly in the thumbnail view. The only drawback is that the colors are so uniform which makes it less natural to pick out the subject. The cracks, though in the ice are really fascinating, though.

I agree with Regmar - some of the impact of the image is lost in the thumbnail version - really like the cracks in the ice breaking up the reflection slightly - excellent photograph

I agree about the ' Wow' , this is an amazing capture, and very creative by the way, and I agree with Lucy, Cain, about the soft complexity. High votes from me!

this is a fabulous, stunning image-straight into my faves collection.comes over as a complete abstract.the snow could be cloud encircling a fractured earth.the shards of ice break up the mountain's reflection and the composition in a fascinating way.denotes not only a fine eye but a feel for the unusual in the usual.i love it-simon
