These Bunchberrys' are of the Dogwood Family. They were found blooming on the forest floor in the Ohanapecosh Camp Ground at Mount. Rainier. It had been raining all day and going into the brush to take photos was inviting a bath. I waited until the next day to go outside the campground.

Wow what a very beautiful image. The color, contrast and focus are dead on. The water droplets and soft light make this image extra special. Well done. 10++

I really like the high contrast in this image Mike. The stepping in brightness from background to leaves and then flowers is quite striking. This is a favourite!

awesome image agree with main, love the deep tones of green, the overall composition and the color contrast over the black. also have to comment that your transitions from film to file are getting much more impressive. This one is a favorite.

The simplistic but perfect composition in this image makes it a 10/10. Awesome work!

Did you know that the white petals on the flower are actually just leaves and that the actual flower itself is the green center and berry looking things? I thought that was neat when I learned about the bunchberries when I posted this spring.

I don't know if you've heard the comparison between the dogwood blossom and the crucifiction, but just in case you haven't, the dogwood forms the shape of the cross, and the center is representative of the crown of thorns...one of those things you pick up from grandparents :) Great image
