This is a photograph near the headwaters of the American River in the Washington Cascade Mt Range. It was such a peaceful place with just the sounds of the birds and the murmuring of the water. It is a very happy place.
The peacefulness you speak of comes across perfectly in this image. The blurred water effect looks a little strange around that sticky out rock, it seems to make it stand out too much from the rest of the image. I do like the angle you used, as the stream doesn't just disappear around that rock but carries on meandering into the distance, great capture.
But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile.
Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.
I hold it true that thoughts are things; They're endowed with bodies, breath and wings:
And that we send them forth to fill the world with good results, or ill.
That which we call our secret thought speeds forth to earth's remotest spot, leaving it's blessings or it's woes like tracks behind it as it goes.
We build our future, thought by thought for good or for ill, yet know it not.
Yet so the universe was wrought .
Thought is another name for fate.
Choose then thy destiny and wait, for Love brings Love and Hate brings Hate. - Henry Van Dyke.
"Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual."
Edward Weston
I love the warmth of the brown tones and the quietness the water portrays....I wonder what makes the water looks so white and "cloudy"...the speed of the photo you take I guess. Washington is as pretty as Oregon...there are so many great spots like this to love...I enjoy your photos so very much!
Hi Micheal, this image is lovely, and your words are congruent with what I am sure you feel it to be, a happy place. This is what I too think of when viewing this beautiful photo! A big 10 from me!! Sincerely, Marilyn
This is gorgeous! The water looks really cool, along with the rest of the image. It looks like something an artist painted, never believing that something that pretty could actually exist... I love it... 10/10 and into my fav's... :)
Then in their trouble they called to the Lord, and He saved them from their distress. He brought them out of their gloom and darkness and broke their chains in pieces. (Psalm 107:13-14)
Mike - I love the color palette and fine composition in this shot. It is a shame we have people in power who do not appreciate (or understand) how valuable places like this are to all of us. Thanks for sharing this especial place.
Wow this place is heavan. I know that in real life this may look normal but its the magic touch of a good photographer that makes this photo a piece to remember. Well done.

I can usually tell when an image is yours before I even look at who the artist might be, Michael. Your balance of contrast, light and shadows always stands out to me. Sweet shot here -
Cheers...........
