This image was taken in the "John Day Fossil Beds - Painted Hills Section". Very early morning and the sunlight is just kissing the highest part of the ridges. The gulleys are still in deep shadow. The little John Day Canactus look like the stars in the heavens.

Beautiful scenery, Michael. I like how you used the morning's light :-)
What are the little yellow spots? Flowers?

I hate it when I see a picture like this one in the new images near one I just uploaded. You nailed this beautifully. The light is lovely, and the yellow lines are just the additional touch that pushes a good photo into greatness.

LOL Reg! Michael this is really nice. When the children are grown, it will be my turn to go where I want for that perfect shot. For now when the sun comes up I am fighting for a few more winks after long hours with the baby at night!

I remember your shot of this area last year and this place still has the power to move me even in a photograph. One day I will visit this place.
