Another image of the same eagle that’s in my gallery entitled, "Lord of the Skies". In this image he was readying for a launch to get airborne. What a magnificent bird allowing me into his space close enough to take his portrait time and time again. In my expeditions into the wild I try to make myself part of the environment. This seems to work for me. It requires patience and understanding of ones place in the subjects space.

Awesome portrait Mike...the detail in the feathers is very nice and it does not look threatened by your presence. Remember to leave the adipose at home;-)

How incredible it was that you were "allowed" to be in the wonderful birds space! I just cant get over how amazing your photography is. You becoming at one with nature..and making self part of it...that is the KEY!!! and you know I am a firm believer in animals sensing when a human is not going to harm them...an absolute awe inspring photo of this king of all the birds Michael!!!!!!!!!!! ....your photos leave me breathless!!
