Near the Eagle Cap Wilderness area in the very North Eastern part of Oregon, is a place known as Wallowa Lake. It was formed by a glacier millions of years ago and what you see on the left side of the image is part of the "Terminal Moraine". That is all the rocks and debris that is at the very end of the glacier. I swam in that lake in the hottest part of summer and it will still put "Goose Bumps" on you. I don't think the water ever gets above 50 degrees F (10 Degrees C).

I knew it was yours immediately when I saw it ! Of course in the voting booth . Absolute beauty. Swimming in water so cold is not recommended for people like me [= on the fat side] because when they emerge they are very very hungry ...and eat and eat and eat ...

Dont know why,but the image has a 3D quality about it. Looks like you are looking through a window. May be the blue that you have used for the border. In the image above it seems as though it is not central, more to one side. At full image, it is perfect. My Gallery

Are these colours true life or computer modified? Such an intensity, I wonder. I have problems sometimes to maintain colour intensity both in the foreground and background. I guess this is the matter of extra camera functions. Congratulations.

Very nice and very serene! You know the best part about this photo... it's pure nature, no signs of human contact!

Beautiful work with the intensity balanced between the water and sky. There's something sort of soft about the green of the valley. I love cloud shadows on the landscape.

Beautiful view!
I would like to swim along with you there some time, must be cold but awsome.
About the technique: try experimenting with the contrast setting on your camera. In this case the clouds would improve if your contrast was set to the minimum. It also give you room to adjust the image afterwards on the PC.

I love the image itself, but it tended to get fuzzy in the larger sizes. That doesn't matter though - the content is great. I would expect nothing less from you. You have contributed so many 'keepers' on Caedes!
