While sitting in my daughters back yard in Bremerton last week having a cup of coffee I noticed some movement out to the left and up from me. When I looked up I saw these little seed pods from a Vine Maple tree swaying in the breeze. I went and got the camera and, well, this is the results.

Hi Michael, what a colorful expression of 'new life' in all it's simplicity! New Life in any form always fascinates me and it doesn't matter to me as to how it rates on nature's scale of measurement! These colors are stunning, so appealing to one's eye, and so symbolic of human life in many ways! Simply lovely Michael! Your presentation of this composition is what puts delight in our viewing and music to our ears!! Supreme is a very befitting word to help me describe this photo! Thank you, Sincerely, Marilyn

you make it sound so easy!! this is beautiful. i think the lighting makes it for me, it is so dramatic. I love the shadows that are on the seed (aka helicopters when i was little). and the colors are great. great work! ~abby

Oh, this brought back memories! As children back in MA, we used to stick these on our noses - go figure! Super lighting on the seed pods - good composition too. The frame is lovely, picking up the pink of the pods. Very lovely image, Michael..thanks :>

I must have already swept a million of these off our back porch. I'm glad they truly do have some artistic merit, given the right artist to see it :) I'll never look at them the same way again !!!! Superb presentation. And I actually put them in my favs, so when I get a pile of them to sweep I can look at just how beautiful they really can be :)

Sometimes the best images come from our own back yards. This has a lovely lighting and composition that makes it special. Well done my friend. How's the back doing? The knee is functional but not 100% yet. Best wishes.

I love backlit foliage as only the sun can do. The pods are clear and sharp. Great blanking out of the background.

Now that is making use of a opportunity and a moment of thought for this photo. Its totally lovely the way the light has come thru the seeds. You have a way of being able to capture such things so very perfedtly Michael. Sometimes the simplest things will give the most beautiful photos. Thank you so much for this one. Verena

This is about light and composition Michael and you nailed it. You make everything a true piece of art. It is all in the way it is viewed :)
The colors are softly muted, yet bright enough to draw the viewer's eye into the image. Very tasteful my friend. Thank you :~)
